IMPORTANT PROGRAM UPDATE
She Has A Name's vision is to see all those impacted by human trafficking restored into society, welcomed in the workplace, and thriving in community. This includes both survivors and solicitors, those arrested for purchasing sex.
Effective September 1st, 2025 the Solicitor Education Program is fully operated by Solicitor Education Programs LLC. Please read below for more details about this transition. Visit SEP LLC’s website for additional information about demand reduction programming.
How we got here
In 2012 SHAN began speaking at two Columbus John Schools, a program for first-time offenders. Around 2018 we partnered with Reduce the Demand LLC to facilitate Columbus' private John School. In 2019 we purchased the program, rebranding it to Solicitor Education Program while infusing it with the same evidence-based, trauma-informed culture we use for all our care programs. In September 2024 we launched Solicitor Education Programs, LLC.
What's Next in Solicitor Care
Since then, SEP has grown into a program with strong community credibility, a rich body of local data, and increasing interest from courts and municipalities outside Columbus. Because of this growth, SHAN’s leadership, with approval from the Columbus City Attorney’s Office, made the decision to establish Solicitor Education Program, LLC as a stand-alone entity in September 2024.
This step was taken for a few key reasons:
Respect for SHAN’s survivor-centered mission
She Has A Name’s outreach and marketing is rightly focused on survivor care. Promoting offender intervention programs like SEP alongside survivor services sometimes risked creating confusion or even alienation among SHAN’s core following. By separating SEP into its own entity, each organization can focus on its mission without overlap - while still working in alignment.
Clarity and growth for SEP
SEP has matured into what we believe is a gold-standard model for sex buyer intervention, shaped by over 1,000 surveys, ACEs research, and decades of criminogenic needs studies. Establishing SEP, LLC allows us to pursue expansion and recognition under its own brand, without diluting SHAN’s mission or identity.
Restorative justice remains central
While SEP, LLC is now its own entity, all profits from SEP will continue to support SHAN and local survivor care initiatives. They will also continue to work exclusively with survivor-supporting vendors like Freedom a la Cart and Roosevelt Coffee, ensuring that funds collected from offenders flow directly back into the communities most impacted by these crimes.
Expanded resources
In addition to their continued in-person programming, they will no longer be listed under SHAN's website, and will be operating under solicitoreducation.com. This site provides more comprehensive resources for offenders, a detailed curriculum overview, answers to common community questions, and even a virtual support community for survivors and family members of sex buyers.

2024 Impact
She Has A Name hosted four courses in February, May, August, and November 2023 thanks to Veritas Community Church’s Tri City congregation. A total of 167 people completed the program. Net proceeds totaling $11,943 were reinvested into our survivor scholarship programs. We launched Solicitor Education Program LLC as a catalyst for multiplying our program out to municipalities across the U.S.
Dream Big | Other municipalities across the U.S. are interested in bringing our Solicitor Education Program to their communities. We are in the process of finalizing a workbook, facilitator guide, and video content to share our best practices across the country.
Our Sex Trafficking Demand Reduction is waiting to be shared. This curriculum was developed by men and meant for male-centric spaces. We hope these efforts reduce the amount of people viewing pornography or purchasing sex, thus reducing the amount of people exploited for sex work.
