Day of Learning FAQs
Is there a prerequisite to attend this training?
No, we offer this course with the assumption that participants have received no formal training about human trafficking prior to attending.
Is there a fee to attend the Day of Learning?
This training is currently free. We encourage registrants to consider making a $10 donation to She Has A Name (SHAN). This investment goes towards the survivor input and staff time that is invested in creating a evidence-based and trauma-informed training program.
Will this event be recorded?
No. At this time we are only facilitating a live, in-person and virtual experience for this training.
Is there a virtual option for me to attend from outside the central Ohio area?
We are currently working with our venue to determine the live streaming capabilities offered for each session. We will update the registration page and website if we are able to offer a fully virtual option for this event.
How often is this training offered?
We typically offer a live Human Trafficking 101 session 2-3 times per year. You can explore our Human Trafficking 101 content on-demand through our Online Learning Platform, found at shehasaname.org/olp.
Is free parking available?
Yes, free surface lot parking is available immediately next to the Student Union where we will gather. Capital University also offers a COTA stop immediately in front of campus.
Is a meal provided during this event?
Yes, we will offer boxed lunches catered by our friends at Freedom A La Cart. Snacks will also be provided throughout the day. You are able to let us know of any allergies or dietary preferences as part of the registration process.
Will child care be available?
No, at this time we are not able to offer dedicated child care for this event. However, the content will be appropriate and we will have activities specifically for kids ages 10-17. We encourage parents to consider learning with their children as this issue primarily affects teens.
