She Has A Name’s 2022 Impact
Join us in celebrating the following accomplishments! This summary highlights our efforts through the calendar year 2022 (January 1st - December 31st). None of this would be possible without the faithfulness of our advocates and the generosity of our community. We invite you to invest in She Has A Name as you read and reflect.
MISSION
She Has A Name is a strong community that exists to fight human trafficking through education, advocacy, and care for those impacted.
VISION
Our vision is to see all those impacted by human trafficking restored into society, welcomed in the workplace, and thriving in community.
SHAN facilitates six unique training programs to address the complex topic of human trafficking. Each is tailored to vulnerable populations and the communities that serve them.
LOCAL ADVOCACY
Courtney spoke at the Columbus City Council’s January meeting recognizing HT Awareness month.
STATE ADVOCACY
Courtney and SHAN advocate Kate joined SB 183 advocacy day with 5 Ohio coalitions at the state house.
FEDERAL ADVOCACY
Signed a letter to US House and Senate regarding Kids Online Safety Act and the Children and Teens' Online Privacy Protection Act
SHAN’s second FAIR & FREE WORKSHOP gathered in June at Gravity in Franklinton. Together participants learned more about what efforts are being done to care for labor trafficking victims in Columbus and shopped from a variety of fair trade, ethically sourced, and second hand vendors.
Survivor Care
She Has A Name offers two scholarships and two support groups for survivors of human trafficking. Interest grows in both areas as more people move beyond recovery and look ahead to what’s next as they thrive in community.

We continue to learn more about what contributes to the decision to purchase sex. This information fostered a trauma-informed approach to the three Solicitor Education Programs (SEP) hosted in 2022.
Consulted with Alaska’s Governor’s council on human trafficking as they consider starting John Schools there.
Hired contract fellow to improve SEP and enhance collaboration among City of Columbus Stakeholders.
Courtney and Natalia joined Canada’s John School virtual gathering to present on our John School database + Slack workspace in October.
City of Columbus announced it shut down its public school in December. She Has A Name manages the sole program for the city.
CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP Nationwide Insurance recognized SHAN’s board vice-chair Christopher Stollar as Volunteer of the Year. The title came with a $5,000 gift to SHAN. Union Bank Co. continued their financial partnership through SHAN volunteer and bank employee Chrisanta Clemans with a $3,000 investment.
Sole Classics, Kendra Scott and Trades of Hope hosted kickbacks benefitting SHAN.
