Survivors of human trafficking have little support to pursue their vision for what comes next beyond restorative programming. We believe in the transformative power of education and its ability to foster discipline, confidence, and strength. Our Strategies for Success scholarship makes it possible for survivors to pursue higher education while remaining debt-free.

The transition from restorative programming to independent living requires unique resources for every survivor. We offer the April Thacker Dream Scholarship to fund the unique dreams of survivors. Since its 2020 inception we have supported 13 survivors in pursuit of their dreams. $1,000 Funds one Dream Scholarship.

>> Provide One Hour Prevention Training

We know that the average age of entry into sex trafficking in the state of Ohio is 15 years old. Yet there are few efforts taken to ensure youth are aware of the realities of exploitation and equipped to recognize and report suspected cases. She Has A Name has adapted our trusted Introduction to Human Trafficking class to empower kids to avoid exploitation. $500 provides a live 90-minute Introduction to Human Trafficking course catered to a younger audience.

$350 GROWTH

>> Educate a Solicitor

Like any business, trafficking relies on the law of supply and demand. In order to address human trafficking at its root, there must be a focus on demand reduction. We operate Central Ohio’s only “John School”, the Solicitor Education Program. We offer this class to both educate buyers about the reality of prostitution as a potential form of human trafficking and to connect those in need with further resources. To increase equitability we offer scholarships for those who cannot afford the $350 class fee.

$100 DREAM

>> Remove Barriers to Participation

We recognize that it can be cost-prohibitive for a survivor to participate in our academic or dream scholarship program interviews if they have a job, a family, or lives out of town. To make our programs as accessible as possible, we offer reimbursement for child care & travel expenses if they’re needed to attend a Dream Session or a scholarship interview. $100 provides gas cards and child care for scholarship interviewees.
