In 2012, Governor Kasich formed The Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force to marshal the state’s resources to provide wraparound services for victims and punish the perpetrators of this horrible crime. Our shared heart to support women transitioning out of addiction, imprisonment, and other challenging circumstances brought to life the dream of a cleaning company specifically designed to help women grow in personal and life skills as they gained confidence in operating in a professional work environment. Today, SHAN Cleaning, owned and operated by CleanTurn, is employing more than a dozen women and has helped women transition to other full time employment opportunities.
Survivor's Ink exists to raise awareness through advocacy and education while empowering human trafficking victims by breaking the psychological chains of enslavement through beautifying, removing, or covering their physical scars, markings, and brandings, which are constant reminders of a violent past.
Unchained Fashion Show is dedicated to ending human trafficking through their signature fashion show which tells the story of a human trafficking survivor through garments designed by Project Runway designer Korto Momolu, music, and narration. The goal of each show is to increase awareness of human trafficking and empower models, volunteers and attendees to identify and report the crime.
